UCM Visitor's Guide

 VISITOR GUIDELINES FOR BELIZE

  •  We at United Christian Mission (UCM) are excited that you are interested enough in missions that you have a desire to visit and witness first-hand what the Lord is doing in Belize! UCM depends upon the support of people just like you, to help us continue to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
  •  Our desire, as you visit, is that you will be a blessing and a source of encouragement to the missionary staff. We also desire that you leave a clear witness and testimony to the Belizean people. To help accomplish these things, the following guidelines are given for those planning to visit the mission.
  •  Visitors are encouraged not to stay longer than one week. (Special exceptions may apply.)
  •  Missionaries normally have a very busy schedule. Please be willing to fit into their schedule of visiting in the community, Bible studies, church work, passing out tracts, etc. All recreational activities must be of a wholesome nature, free from any appearance of evil.
  •  Belizean culture is unique. Please be sensitive to any suggestions missionaries have to offer. Take time to personally get to know some of the Belizeans!
  •  Please dress modestly. Our missionaries and their visitors are watched closely, to see if they really practice what they believe.
  •  Our desire is that your experience in Belize is an extremely pleasant and blessed experience. Our greater desire is that your visit does not hinder or burden the missionaries in any way. Therefore, please do the following:
  •  Please check with the mission administrator before arranging your flight. Email him at Administrator@unitedchristianmission.com . Fuel is very expensive, and the airport is a 1½ hour drive (one way). Someone else may be arriving or departing within a day or two of your plans. It is a tremendous help if trips to the airport can be combined. A public Shuttle can be scheduled from the airport to San Ignacio at https://belizing.com/Belize-Ground-Shuttle/
  • Check with those you are visiting to see if there is anything you could take along that is hard to find in Belize.
  • We would appreciate your consideration in reimbursing the mission for the expenses your visit will incur such as travel, food, phone calls, etc.
  • If you have any questions concerning these guidelines, please contact the UCM Board Chairman at Chairman@unitedchristianmission.com We sincerely thank you for your interest and cooperation.
  • God bless you!
